Why we don’t test on animals

Many multi-national brands, including some of the biggest names based in Europe or the United States, are facing increasing pressure from consumers around the question of animal testing. Many state on their websites that they do not test their products on animals, except where specific countries’ legislation requires this.

One of these countries is China, a growing lucrative market for Western beauty brands. At the moment, all skin-care products that are imported into China are required to undergo Chinese animal testing, which usually results in the death of the animals used. We don’t test on animals because not only is it cruel but it’s also unnecessary as there are many laboratory tests that can ensure that skin care products and ingredients are safe to use.
